Asthma Advocacy and Awareness for Allen
The “right to breathe” is a human right; however, many individuals with asthma struggle to exercise this humanistic right. Many individuals have been personally impacted by the lack of asthma awareness and advocacy. As such, there is urgent need to transform lived experiences and personal trauma into moments of learning, educating, and advocating to enhance awareness and understanding for the collective.
Asthma awareness and advocacy within African American communities are particularly crucial because this demographic is disproportionately affected by asthma and its complications. Black Women Energy™
A space curated for Black women to address intersecting ideas, emotions, and lived experiences to foster holistic health, collective community, personal/professional encouragement, fiscal prosperity, civil liberties awareness, and socio-emotional security is desperately needed. This work requires a thoughtful and inclusive approach. As such, the platform development is underway with a user-centric design. A focus on intuitive navigation, accessibility, aesthetics, features, and functionalities that resonate with Black women will be the goal.
The content creation will be carefully designed to ensure there are relevant topics emerging from experts and user voice. Further, through authentic community building, an emphasis on holistic health and economic development will be underscored. A safe and inclusive environment where users feel comfortable sharing their experiences and seeking support will be cultivated. The implementation of moderation policies to maintain a positive and respectful atmosphere will occur. Opportunities to celebrate achievements and milestones within the community will be provided. The launch will be shared through multiple social media platforms and posted prominently on this website.
